Version 5.2 Features and Enhancements

Operating Environment

  • When operating with an Enterprise license, the license manager will no longer automatically attempt to validate the license every two weeks.

Performing Evaluations

  • Evaluation Results will now be properly displayed in the Results window when the first column of the table being evaluated is a geometry field.
  • Query Rule Descriptions are now included in the Evaluation Results file, and are also displayed in the Query Definition popup window from the Evaluation Results tree.
  • A new option has been added that allows you to choose whether field attribute checks will be processed for fields that fail the Field Type Check. In past versions, if this check failed, then no other checks were performed on that field; in V5.2, the application will now, by default, process the remaining checks for a particular field even if the Field Type Check fails. If you prefer to run your evaluations using the original methodology, you can override this setting and force the remaining checks to be skipped if the Field Type Check fails.

Rule Set Editor

  • The Description and Reference fields of a Rule Set can now store up to 25,000 characters of text each.
  • The Description field of a Query Rule can now store up to 25,000 characters of text.
  • There is no longer a limit on the length of the query string that can be entered when creating a Query Rule.
  • The query string text box of a Query Rule now supports vertical scrolling.
  • The Query Rule editor now supports the selection of null (blank) values from the Unique Values list.
  • When publishing a Rule Set, the first Public Rule Set Folder in the folder list will automatically be selected as the publishing folder. Therefore, if there is only one folder in the list, the correct folder will automatically be selected, with no further input necessary from the user.
  • A new menu item has been added to the Tools menu that allows Rule Sets to be exported to V5.0 format. This feature can be used to support backward compatibility with V5.0, for agencies that are continuing to use both V5.0 (in ArcGIS 9.3.1) and V5.2 (in ArcGIS 10). Exported files retain the same name as the original V5.2 files, with “_V50” appended to the end.
